An agreement between Ontario, Canada-based Wentworth Mold Inc and Plastic Technologies of Holland will enable the Dutch company to expand its use of Wentworth’s Fast to Market blow moulding program to the blow moulding machines at its US facility as well as its European subsidiary, PTI-Europe.



Wentworth will provide PTI additional FTM mould carriers and will produce prototype FTM moulds for PTI at both its Hamilton, Ontario plant and its UK site in Nottinghamshire. In addition, as a strategic partner, PTI will have full access to Wentworth’s soon to be launched, real time, on-line job quoting service which will enable the Dutch company to reduce the time spent in the initially quotation phase of a project, so keeping the total package development time to a minimum.

PTI’s extensive prototyping capabilities will be used by Wentworth in both North America and Europe to test prototypes. PTI recently completed an extensive packaging development project for one of its key customers where Wentworth supplied eight FTM blow moulds to PTI with an average delivery time per mould of four days, from the receipt of the 3DF CAD files from PTI. One goal of the alliance is to reduce the mould delivery times even further by streamlining the file transfer and mould engineering and manufacturing processes.
