Low Cost Manufacturing in Central Europe

In order to offer the best value to customers and significantly reduce overall product cost, Wentworth established the manufacturing of blow molds in Poniatowa, Poland in 2000.  The Poniatowa operation is performing very well and supplies our customers in North America, Europe and World-wide.  It is dedicated to manufacturing all types of blow molds and is operating 24/7, providing the highest level of service.  The Poniatowa operation is fully equipped with the latest CNC-5 Axis Machining Centers and CNC Lathes.  Subsequent to the expansion of the Poniatowa operation, in 2004, an additional low cost manufacturing facility began operations in Rzeszow, Poland.  The Rzeszow facility focuses on the manufacture of PET Preform tooling components, refurbishments and conversions on Preform molds, while providing support to the Poniatowa operation.  These operations are staffed with experienced designers, engineers, CNC machinists, toolmakers, and quality inspectors that were trained by Wentworth’s highly skilled, experienced personnel in the United States and Canada. All facilities conform to Wentworth’s ISO 9001 quality standards and procedures.

Global Optimization of Value Supply Chain

In response to customer requests for lower mold prices and the market forces that globalize manufacturing, Wentworth re-engineered its Value Supply Chain to provide more value to customers.  Wentworth consolidated all manufacturing operations in North America to two main locations; PET and Extrusion blow mold manufacturing to the main plant in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and PET Preform, IBM and ISBM mold manufacturing to the main plant in Vandalia, Ohio, USA.  In addition to this re-organization to optimize North American facilities, a significant portion of overall manufacturing was moved to Wentworth’s Poland facilities.  This being a low cost source, Wentworth’s strategic expansion in Central Europe and the optimization within North America have allowed Wentworth to not only meet customer needs but exceed them, truly giving them the competitive advantage over their competition . 

Both the Hamilton and Vandalia operations continue as the headquarters and centers of global activities for Blow Molds and Preform Molds, respectively, and maintain full capabilities to manufacture and service molds for all machine types and all technologies.  The Global Sales Team within North America operate from these two main locations.  In addition, global teams focusing on R&D and technological innovations are managed from North American Headquarters.
